Day 4: Serve Jesus

I knew God told me to pick this year's VBS theme for a reason.

So, on serving Jesus... Yes, there are times when we don't have the heart to serve, but do we do it anyway? Because for the past four weeks I've been overwhelmed with God's calling and the implications that go with it (or the ones that I've made up). Because for the past four weeks I let the frustrations that come with serving wear me down into discouragement and depression. Now the shame and guilt of my mistakes are preventing me from wanting to serve in any kind of ministry. And in the midst of me trying to fight Satan's oh so clever lies, I forgot that "Because Jesus forgives me, I can serve Him." Someday I'll overcome my tendency to reject grace and I'll be more than a conquerer. Someday... (soon?)
